The restoration of
My 1978 Chrysler New Yorker
This page is dedicated to the documentation of the restoration of the 1978 Chrysler New Yorker that I was lucky enough to pick up from a used car lot for less than $900.00.
[The picture will go here as soon as I get it developed and scanned.]
As you will see from the "before" photographs, I have my work cut out for me. But this car is worth it and I intend to complete this restoration as quickly as possible. Here is some photographs of restored '77-'78 New Yorkers. My own is the same gray as the gray one you see here. In fact, it's almost identical to this one, except that I have not yet completed the restoration.
Here are more photographs of these beautiful examples of 1970's automotive architecture:
This is an ad for the 1977
New Yorker, which has subtle differences - almost undetectable - from the 1978
that I have.
This condition is the goal I have in mind for my own.
Here's a beautiful white
one. I've been tempted to change the color of mine,
but frankly, I want it to be original, so gray with the white interior is what
I'm going to stick with.
This light blue one is very much like the 1977 New Yorker that my father used to have. It was driving that particular car that gave me the love for these cars. It was one of the most sumptuous, luxurious rides I've ever had the pleasure of driving.
If you own the copyright on any of the photographs which appear here, please let me know. I will be happy to recognize that on this page or remove the photos if you wish. These are excellent photos of beautiful cars and I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for these cars. Thanks!
